June 09 Newsletter
Summer is here and 15C has everything you could possibly need!  Picnic supplies and all the accessories for backyard BBQs and dinner parties.  But if you don't feel like cooking, come check out our new menu items!  Tapas, salads, charcuterie plate, and new boccadillos!

We stocked up on some great summer whites and roses to cool you and your guests off:

Sparkling Vouvray | Breton NV | $18
An amazing cremant style sparkling chenin blanc from the Loire Valley. This producer and her husband farm totally organically and make amazingly mineral driven white wines.

Vega Sindoa | Rose of Grenache 08 | $9
We love this wine so much we took some home ourselves!  It is made from 100% Garnacha and has an amazing fuchsia color!  It is dry, but packed with fruit and flavor!

Broadbent | Vinho Verde 08 | $10
Vinho Verde at only 9% alcohol and a little bit of frizzante is the epitome of porch pounders!  It is crisp & refreshing, and only 10 bucks, what more is there to say.

Croft | Pink Port NV | $22
The Portuguese don’t just drink sweet dessert wines, but often like to add ice cubes and soda water to make a refreshing cocktail.  The Croft pink is perfect for that and with a lemon wedge or other fruit garnish it is like sangria!

Botani | Moscatel 08| $22
A dry white wine from Moscatel from Malaga, Spain.  It tastes like pineapple juice with a mineral sea breeze and citrus crispiness.

Domaine Tempier  | Bandol Blanc 07 | $43
This is one of the most intriguing white wines we have had in a long time.  It is rich and complex, yet mild and balanced.  58% Clairette, 19% Ugni Blanc, 19% Bourboulenc & 4% Marsanne

15C University | starts July 7th
$350/person | reservations required | space is limited

Belfiore Buffalo Mozzarella [$5/8oz ball] is perfect with heirloom tomatoes and basil, a little cypress black lava salt and Olea farms basil blush olive oil in a caprese salad.

NEILS YARD DAIRY CHEESES

Doddington [cow, $32/lb], Tickelmore [goat, $40/lb], Berkswell [sheep, $38/lb], Harbourne Blue [goat, $42/lb]

To expand on one...DODDINGTON
(Northumberland, England)
Cheese maker, Maggie Maxwell, is supported by three brothers:
They have a herd of around 200 Holstein-Friesian and Normandy cows which are looked after and milked by Maggie’s brother Bob. The cheese is made from the morning milk, while Maggie’s other brother Neil and his wife Jackie, make ice-cream from the evening milk.  Maggie’s third brother, John, built the milking parlour for the dairy.
Doddington has the aroma of fresh sweet cream and spruce.  Toothsome and dense in texture the flavor profile seems to unfold in three parts - fruit and caramel give way to brown butte and white pepper - ending in bold pan juice style richness almost like caramelized potatoes at the bottom of a Sunday roast.

15C Apparel
Support us and rock a 15C flex fit [$22] or trucker hat [$15] to protect you from the Summer Sun.  Ladies, we have American Apparel tank tops and shirts [$15].  Men, we just got in new white embroidered polo shirts [$38]!

Ambyth Winery | Certified Biodynamic | 61% Grenache 28% Mourvedre11% Syrah | $ 45
The fruit comes from Mark’s Vineyard and was picked on fruit days according to the Biodynamic calendar.   Only 92 cases were made.
Tasting Notes:  "...an intriguing blend...it displays attractive game-like, raspberry, fig and peppery notes, abundant spice, dark fruits, medium body, and admirable acidity as well as freshness...think of it as a pleasant California-style Cotes du Rhone."  --Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #177, June 2008

Eel River Brewing Co. | America's first certified organic brewery     IPA | Brewed with the finest organic malts and hops, our IPA features a bright-minted copper color and a crisp, yet smooth hop bitterness. Pale and crystal malts come through with a malty caramel sweetness, balanced with aggressively clean burst of fresh hop flavor in the middle palate without lingering bitter astringency. A strong floral and citrus character from generous dryhopping blends with strawberry esters from our house yeast strain for an inviting and satiating aroma.

Acai Wheat | A light-bodied wheat ale brewed with organic acai berries from Brazil, and a flavorful mix of four other organic berries. Acai berries boast high antioxidant properties too, so drink on!
