Our second Rhone Style blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre. This deep, dark brute has a compelling nose of blackberry liqueur, fig, and black cherry jam, supported by notes of sassafras/root beer, green peppercorns, grilled game, chocolate, and toasted vanilla bean. The palate is drenched in blackberry and chocolate, followed by flavors of candy mint, black cherry, dried cranberry and red currant. Volcanic minerals, dried orange peel, and cocoa dominate the finish, supported by bright acidity and fine tannins. Great balance and complexity make for a very flexible drinker. We suggest at least an hour of decanting.
