Ali Rush Carscaden, owner/certified advanced sommelier of 15 Degrees C, and cookbook author Brigit Binns come together again in an informative and delicious class that will expand your knowledge of how the same grape variety behaves differently in different parts of the world. In this first class of an ongoing series, Ali and Brigit will focus on two grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache. Students will learn from Ali how different terroirs and vinification styles affect the same grape, while Brigit will prepare and serve four dishes that pair perfectly with each individual style of wine: New World Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache, and Old-World Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache.
You will learn about (and eat and drink):
OLD WORLD: Sauvignon Blanc
*Snow Pea Salad with Pancetta, Pecorino, and Lemon Vinaigrette
NEW WORLD: Sauvignon Blanc
* Thai Shrimp and Soba Noodle Soup
OLD WORLD: Grenache
* Roast Quail with Fingerlings and Fava Beans
NEW WORLD: Grenache
